Host Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has sports in his DNA as the son of the National Basketball Association’s all-time leading scorer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Born in Washington D.C. and raised in Los Angeles, California, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar attended the Brentwood School and was an avid participant not only in basketball, but soccer, baseball, volleyball, and skateboarding as well.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar began his collegiate career at Valparaiso University, and was part of the team that earned an NCAA tournament appearance. He then moved on to Western Kentucky University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a year at Santa Monica College in between. Kareem then pursued his dream of playing professional basketball across a variety of stops that took him to Canada, Spain, Germany, & Panama, as well as the NBA Summer League, among others.

Kareem transitioned easily to the Los Angeles signature industry, show business and began to carve out a budding acting career. Among his television and movie credits are roles in I Tried, Half and Half, and Weapons. It was during this time of pursuing the craft of acting he discovered his knack for hosting and interviewing.

He recently completed his Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California, where he did coursework at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
